No Line Colouring

Sooner or later we step out of our comfort zone and try something a little different. Quite sometime ago I came across this amazing image coloured by the incredibly talented Alyice from Kit and Clowder. Once I saw her fantastic colouring I knew that the no line colouring tenichique was on my to do list. Therefore I proceeded to print out the image, the lines turned out so faint that they were difficult to see. Feeling discouraged by the faint lines as well as the much larger image and fine detail, it was enough to set this project aside. Regardless I could not quite put it out of my mind as much as I would have liked to. Consequently it was not long before the image resurfaced and my markers came out to play. In the end my project was completed while still not being sure whether this technique will be repeated, at least I can say I did learn a lot from the whole process.

Blankie Teddies

As we know most children love to carry a favourite blanket with them, not only for comfort but also security. The moment I came across this adorable pattern for these cute blanket teddies, I knew right then and there several would be in the making. Not only does this pattern come with the teddies shown here, but also sweet kittens and playful puppies to choose from.  Finally creating these blanket teddies from Minkie and flannel adds an extra dynamic to the feel which children love.

Have a great day,

A Flash From The Past

Nothing like a flash from the past to let you know how old you really are. The Flinstones were a big part of our childhood along with Scooby Doo, Bugs Bunny and many more animated cartoons. At the time you do not realize the impact that these simple programs have on your life. They all have basic family values of a simpler time. For the most part life has become busy, complicated and very structured.
With that being said using this Flinstones image was the perfect choice for wishing my brother a happy 50th birthday. Not only a reminder of the simpler times but also that he is as prehistoric as the rest of us. Furthermore it was extremely fun to colour and makes a super card for any occasion.

Happy Birthday,

Playing Dress Up

Today is another special day in our family, my husbands grandmothers 93rd birthday. What a remarkable lady, not only is she full of spunk but she also has an amazing sense of humour, a little dry but very funny. As a matter of fact Gran is such an inspiration to everyone around her. Indeed an prime example of how life should be lived.
So, many happy returns of the day.
Today's cute image is from a Kraftin Kimmie stamp set created by the talented Cheryl Alger called Playtime Lulu. Not only is she just one of the three adorable stamps in this set but is also is accompanied with four different sayings all the while making it a fun set indeed.

Wishing you a day filled with fun and play,

Kenny K's Krafty Krews Gem and Rhinestone challenge

Today's card is for the Kenny K's Krafty Krews challenge. As a result this challenge brought out my feminine side with the use of shinny rhinestones, while the Super Mom image from Kenny K provided the strength and power behind us women. In any event the two aspects came together beautifully.

Spring is in the Air, Make It Colourful Challenge

March is finally here and the hope of spring is in the air.  Nevertheless the Rocky Mountains have a ton of snow, although we are wanting it gone we hope it will melt slowly so not to cause flooding. Other than that I can't wait for winter to be over.
Therefore the Make It Colourful challenge was the perfect opportunity to dust off a few images and create a warm spring scene complete with with flowers blooming, a tree coming into leaf and two crazy friends about to share a cup of tea.
Make it Crafty has some amazing images, resulting in these four fantastic images which came together beautifully. The Crazy March Hare was a perfect choice to bring in the spring along with his trusty companion the Mad Hatter whom sooner or later gets into a state of confusion. In any event the Tulip Park and Dandelions backgrounds brought this scene to life, in fact they provided the criteria to enter the easy challenge, coloring flowers or trees, plus, the hard challenge, colouring wood or tree trunks.
As a result this image was super fun to colour providing a few hours of entertainment.

What a Hoot Part 2

Today is part two of my What A Hoot owl hot pads. The first batch of owls I sewed turned out so adorable it prompted me into making more. This time I figured I would make dozen, or six pairs of these super cute yet handy kitchen companions. Furthermore, what made this round of owls extra special was I had a friend join me on her birthday to sew a couple for herself. It is always fun to create and share at the same time.

Not quite finished yet a couple more adorable owls needed to be made. Finally, after finishing these two cuties I put the pattern away and called it done.

Have a hooting good time,
