Happy Birthday Mom

Today is another special day where I get to celebrate two birthdays. The first is the card I am sharing with you and the second is my friends whose card I will share later. I love it the when birthdays of my friends land on the same day as family it makes them easy to remember.
To begin with I love birthdays, they represent a special time where you get to celebrate who you are, the good and the not so good. It is the total sum, all of our experiences. A celebration of our uniqueness as well as our individuality, a time just for you.
So on this happy occasion I wish my mom (who is one of my biggest supporters) a very happy birthday and an amazing day filled with happiness and joy. Enjoy your day mom and remember your worth it.
Next a little about this card. The colours were chosen as many of you can guess for the wanting  of spring, bright colourful and cheery. Additionally this very talented baker Sally with her Triple Layer Delight, yet another cute and wonderful digi stamp from Sassy Cheryl's makes this card complete.

Finally, thanks mom for all the encouragement and praise that you send my way.
Have a great day,

Happy Birthday Part Two

As I mentioned before my friends birthday is on the same day as my moms. So this post today is dedicated to her.
Although I have recently used this image image from Kenny K, I figured the fun and vibrant Happy Hour girl would be perfect. However it's not because she loves happy hour but rather because she loves to celebrate and have fun with the girls. By the same token her amazing story telling abilities and quick whit keeps us girls enjoying an evening of fun and laughter all the while enjoying each others company.
Wishing you many happy returns on the day, Happy Birthday!

Have fun,

A Missed Laugh

When I think of yellow and blue I think of spring happy days and sunshine. My hope is that this card  will bring a warm hearttfelt feeling, as it was made with sympathy and sadness for my neighbour and the loss of her husband.
For this card I chose to use Crystal from Make It Crafty as she has a wistful almost sad look to her. Furthermore the colour scheme yellow and blue follows the theme of Make It Colourful's blog challenge. Finally by adding black into the mix I was able to create a mood that was appropriate for a sympathy card.

Your jolly spirit and laugh will be truly missed,

Heartfelt Love

My post comes to you today from the wonderful and artistic ski town of Fernie BC. Given that we only live forty five minutes away Fernie is the perfect getaway for the day or a weekend. Today was just a day trip, we visited the quaint shops along the main street that sell everything from your fancy ski equipment, gift items and amazing local art. Once the shops were completed we ended up in one of the wonderful lunch establishments where we were served hot curried yam soup accompanied by an advacodo vegetable sandwich on fresh made grainery bread, all the while sipping on a warm cup of zen tea. What could be better? Some much needed down time.
Seeing that I have finished going through my blogs I figured this would be a great time to write up my post.
This sweet and wonderful Tiddly inks image Heartfelt Love has been a part of my collection for quite some time just waiting to be created into a card for a special someone. Although this image could be used for valentines in this particular case it is a we miss you, we are thinking of you card for our lovely daughter inlaw who right now is in Japan.

Three hearts from three people who miss you,

What a Hoot!

This project that I am sharing today was not only incredibly fun to sew, but also makes for a very useful and unique gift. As mentioned before I have a tendency to get carried away with a project, so today is just a sampling of my creation. After all once I saw how adorable these hot mats were I knew that eight would not be enough. Therefore I will be back to the fabric and sewing machine for a second round of making these cute and colourful owls.
This delighful pattern is Hot Who! Owl Hot Pads, by Susie C Shore Designs from Crafters Corner (ST-1107).
How cute are they? I think they are great.

Have a hooting good day,

Fair Vanity

This particular Kenny K image that I am sharing today is one that I coloured up with several others images. In fact I love to see all the wonderful colours on a page compleatly full of images, for me it is a buffet of scrumptious eye candy. Not only do, I get to feast on all of the amazing colours but it's also the enjoyment of choosing the appropriate papers for each of the images. Next the creations get to come to life with the assembling of coordinating papers and adding fun accessories. In the end you have several finished projects ready for that someone special, which at this time of year works well for me.
As for this fashionable gal Vanity she was originally going to be adhered to a clipboard (hence the reason she was printed larger than what would be used on a traditional card) but at last my project turned into a cute birthday card tag all the while using one of the great versatile Prima doll tags

Enjoy today,

A Happy Hour Birthday

Now that Christmas is all wrapped up and the new year is in full swing it is time to get on with some crafting. As January and February are chocked full of birthdays I thought I would get into action and get some cards made. Consequently the card I am about to share with you is the first of several that I am working on. As an added bonus not only am I able to use this card in the Kenny's Krafty Krews challenge of Anything Goes with a twist of Bling, but I also get to wish a very happy birthday to a great friend whom is always thinking of others. So with no further ado "Happy Birthday" and Many Happy Returns of the Day.
Furthermore this totally sassy, fun loving Happy Hour digi stamp is the perfect image for sending a birthday celebration greeting.

Have a great day,

Maddie Loves Cocoa

Winter here in Canada can be terribly long and cold. Consequently I have become what one might call a weather whimp, always looking for ways to keep cozy and warm. I liken myself to a hobbit before any adventures safe in my abode with the fire roaring (not quite we have a gas fireplace, but it sounds nice), also instead of a nice calorie rich cocoa I tend to settle for a cup of  spicy fragrant tea. In any event winter has become a time for contemplation, introspection and creation.
These super cute and very fashionable little girls from Sassy Cheryl have no problem knowing what keeps them warm, dry and comfortable. Furthermore these adorable bookmarks will gladly hold your place in a favorite book during times of introspection and contemplation.

Sweet and wonderful thoughts,
